AWANA (Youth Program)
AWANA (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed 2 Timothy 2:15) is a nondenominational ministry that assists churches in reaching children and teenagers with the gospel of Jesus Christ and training them to serve Him.
AWANA began in 1950 as a youth program at the North Side Gospel Center in Chicago, Illinois. Today, there are more than 10,000 churches in the United States that have Awana clubs.
AWANA gives children and teenagers a clear, consistent presentation of the gospel and a fun approach to learning God’s Word. Also, in AWANA, kids can play some circle games exclusive to Awana which are lots of fun.
Our AWANA club (started by Calvary Baptist Church) has programs for children of all ages, such as Cubbies (for preschool), Sparks (for K - 2nd grade), Truth & Training (for 3rd - 6th grade), and pioneers and guards (6th grades and up). The club schedule is every Wednesday 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
